Adaptable backyard homes

A second home,
in your backyard.

A place for the people you love and the work you do, in the home you already have. As life keeps changing, it changes right along with you.

Adaptable by design

Start small. Grow as your needs do.

One unit today, another when life asks for more. Member homes are built to combine, so the space you add now keeps working as everything around it changes.

A Member backyard home glowing warm through a storm at night — lightning over the main house, every window lit while the grid is down.

Questions, plainly answered

The stuff you'd actually want to ask.

So what is a Member home, really?

It's a real, permanent backyard home, technically an accessory dwelling unit (ADU). We build it off-site in components, then assemble it on your property in days, not months, once the permits are approved. The first homes we ship are studios and one-bedrooms, with integrated battery backup available.

What does “adaptable” actually mean?

A Member home is built to change with you. You can start small — right where you are now — and grow it as your needs or your life change. It might begin as a home office, become a guest suite when family visits, then a rental a few years on. No tearing it down, no starting over.

How big is it, and how big can it get?

Our first models are studios and one-bedrooms, sized for typical backyards and the zoning in our launch markets. The exact dimensions may adjust as we get closer to production, and we'll keep you updated on any changes.

Do I need to own the property?

Yes. A Member home is installed on your existing lot, so you'll need to own it, or be in the process of buying. Before anything is final, we'll review zoning, setbacks, utilities, and any HOA constraints with you.

What about the energy backup?

Every Member ADU can come with integrated battery backup. When the grid goes down, your Member home keeps running, and depending on the configuration it can keep critical circuits in your main house going too. It's solar-ready by design, so you can keep it lean now and add capacity later.

When can I get one?

First builds are going in around Austin in 2027. Founding members get priority access to those production slots. Reserve your spot and we'll be in touch as we open more areas.
